If you want to travel to an Occidental travel destination, why not come to Bangkok? Bangkok is the capital of Thailand and is a beautiful place to see. There are many different things to see and do here. Getting to Bangkok by air is easy. You will enter via Suvarnabhumi Airport. There are many different transportation networks in Bangkok for boat, metro bus, and rail. You may also be able to get around by taxi. There is plenty to see and to do here, so let's get started with all of the wonderful things that Bangkok has to offer.
There are many different festivals and events in Bangkok such as the Bangkok Songkran Festival which marks the Thai New Year, The Royal Ploughing Ceremony in May, and Trooping of the Colors. There are also many places to see such as the Grand Palace, Wat Pho, Wat Phra Kaew and the Wat Suthat for example. Another palace of note is the Chitralada Palace. Public parks should also be on the must see list including Princess Mother Memorial Park, Queen Sirikit Park and Lumphini Park. If museums are what you want to see, you have a great many to take a look at including National Gallery Museum, Vimanmek Mansion and Suan Pakkad Palace.
There are several cruises that are also available in Bangkok such as the Riverine Bangkok. To learn all about Bangkok and its culture you have several options that you have available. If you want to watch theater, you have both the Traditional Thai Puppet Theater as well as the Chaloem Krung Royal Theater for example. Shopping in Bangkok is also a pleasure. There are plenty of places for you to shop at such as Siam Center, Siam Paragon, Chatuchak Weekend Market and MBK Center. These are just some of the examples of shopping in Bangkok but not the only ones.

Movie lovers can rejoice in Bangkok. If you are looking for the latest releases go to the IMAX Theater in Siam Paragon. But if you are looking for movies that are a bit off the beaten path, then Apex and House RCA are better places to go. If eating is what you like, there are plenty of world class restaurants such as Sukhumvit for world-class food or Yaowarat for Chinese food. You also have dinner cruises that you can choose such as the Maeyanang, Chao Phraya Princess or Loy Nava for example.
You can also learn a lot about the Thai culture by taking a cooking class. Silom has some of the better cooking schools in the area. If it is meditation that you are after, why not go to the International Buddhist Meditation Centre. For learning Thai massage, Check out the Wat Pho Temple for this type of course. Hotels are also commonplace in Bangkok such as the Peninsula and the Oriental for starters. For example in Sukhumvit you can find the Ambassador Hotel, The Bangkok City Inn in Siam Square, De Arni Bangkok in Silom and New Siam II in Khao San Road.
