When In Rome, Do As The Romans Do

Romantic Rome is a wonderful place to be, not only for romance but for history and sites that will literally take your breath away. No matter where you go in the Eternal City, you can find history, museums, and things to do that will make a memorable vacation for anyone wanting a taste of Italian culture. This is a wonderful place for a vacation and there is so much to see and do in Rome. Rome has been featured in books and in films but this is only the beginning of a Roman vacation.

With Rome being a UNESCO World Heritage Site, you can honestly find something to suit everyone. Getting into Rome is easy by going either to Leonardo da Vinci/Fiumicino International airport or Ciampino International airport. You can get around by car, boat and train as well as bus. Some of the sights that you can see in Old Rome include the Pantheon, the Vatican and Baths of Caracalla. If you love churches, you will be pleased with the beautiful churches such as St. Peters, San Giovanni, Santa Maria Maggiore, and St. Paul's Outside the Walls. But there is so much more to see!

When it comes to sightseeing, you have the Circus Maximum as well as the Coliseum to take a look at. If you are interested in Museums, you have a lot to choose from. One of the first museums you should look at is the Galleria Borghese. You also have the National Museums at the Baths of Diocletian. The Vatican is also a must see when in Rome. Places like the Sistine Chapel are world-famous for being a museum. Museum of the Walls is also a great museum to go to. The piazzas are wonderful to look at.

One of the most famous fountains in all Rome is the Trevi Fountain. You also have the Piazzo del Popolo and Piazza della Minerva also are great to see. Many of the piazzas have wonderful fountains for you to see. Now if you have children, here are some sights to see for them such as the Time Elevator, the Wax Museum and the Children's Museum. There is so much to see and to do here that you need a lot of time to see it all. Gardens are also a must see and there are several that will fit the bill nicely.

Villa Borghese and Pineto Regional Park are two of the best examples of parks in Rome. These are wonderful parks to take a walk in. You also have Villa Celimontana which is another beautiful garden. If you love statues that talk, check out the Maforio and Pasquiono as well as Abbot Luigi and Madame Lucrezia. If you want columns check out the statue of Winged Victory on top of Vittorio Emamuele, as well as Antonine Column. Famous bridges include the Bridge of Angels, Ponte Vittorio Emanuele II and Ponte Cestio. So there is a lot to see and to do when in Rome that you will fall in love with.
